    There are a few casinos in the commonwealth, the biggest number being on anchored scows. The largest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an American Indian gambling den in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gaming room, 1,500 slots, 30 table games, such as twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many varieties of poker; also three dining rooms, biweekly productions, and gaming advice. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four restaurants. There are several other dominant Iowa casinos, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

    A tinier Iowa casino is the Diamond Jo, a river boat gambling den in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river boat gambling hall, The Isle of Capri, is available 24 hours, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot river boat gambling den in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday chemin de fer matches.

    Iowa casinos offer an excellent deal of tax revenue to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has allowed the funding of a good many commonwealth wide projects. Vacationers have gotten bigger at a rapid rate accompanied with the requirement for companies and a gain in jobs. Iowa casinos have contributed to the growth of the market, and the affection for gaming in Iowa is across the board.
